An overview of Estimating Processes, in order to appreciate the difficulties estimators face, methods they use, things they consider with a full review of all steps taken in the tendering process. Aimed at Project Managers, Engineers, Site Foremen and Operatives alike. Informal classroom presentation with significant hands on involvement. |

The course is entitled “Estimating Overview” but curiously it’s not aimed at estimators – it is, in truth more of an Estimating Processes appreciation exercise, and is aimed at Project Managers, Engineers, Site Foremen and Operatives.
A principle driver behind the course is to educate staff members as to the difficulties involved in the estimating process and to remove any “blame the estimate” culture. In addition “commercial awareness” elements introduce delegates to the realities of the tender process, and reinforce a “team effort” approach to contracting.
The course is delivered informally, in a classroom environment, with a specific content being tailored to suit individual contractors needs, processes and applications. Typically most of the content will be covered in the morning session with the bulk of the afternoon being taken up by a “hands on” workshop reinforcing the concepts and ideas covered in the morning session. A Review followed by questions and answers completes the course.
Again, to emphasize the course is totally configurable to suit any contractors’ particular needs. Being adjusted to include any process is forms or documentation specific to your organization and of course adjusted to suit whichever estimating software packages you may use.
